I really, really love this still. And yes, I'm sorry I saw The Dark Knight in IMAX last night without taking each and every one of you along. I believe it was Aziz Ansari who said, "If it were physically possible, I would fuck this movie.” Because of my strict Elks Club vows, I can't go that far, but I would like to take every frame of the film containing Heath Ledger out to the gazebo. I don't know what that means. But I want to see this again, almost entirely to watch Ledger. He is (was) absolutely extraordinary in this. UPDATE: In today's Times review, Manohla Dargis elegantly concurs: "No matter how cynical you feel about Hollywood, it is hard not to fall for a film that makes room for a shot of the Joker leaning out the window of a stolen police car and laughing into the wind, the city’s colored lights gleaming behind him like jewels. He’s just a clown painted on black velvet, but he’s also some kind of masterpiece."
